There’s a pair of pools, both with a separate section for children. The main one comes with a swim-up bar. The smaller pool next to the beach plays music and hosts activities. Both pool areas have a Jacuzzi®. Over at the Bahia Principe Grand Coba, there’s a little waterpark filled with slides and sprinklers, which is a hit with young guests.

You’ve got two large pools at the Akumal, one of which is an activity pool. The poolside here comes with waiter service offering premium drinks, like juices, cocktails and international drinks. A mini-disco starts things off in the amphitheatre, which then hosts a show – it could be a tribute act or a dance troupe. There’s also live music in the bars. When the bars close, guests can take the free shuttle to Hacienda Doña Isabel. It’s a replica of a colonial hacienda and it comes with a bar, plus a nightclub where live music gives way to a disco.
