Why Riu Arecas Hotel?
This adults-only hotel gives you a triple helping of pools, and it’s just a short walk to the beach.
This huge building is shaped like a cruise liner. On one side you’ve got the Adeje mountains and, on the other, views of the Atlantic Ocean. Within the hotel, there’s a trio of pools and a buffet restaurant.
The hotel’s in an upmarket part of Costa Adeje, just a five-minute drive from the centre. And it’s a five-minute cab ride in the other direction to La Caleta, a fishing village home to bars and restaurants. You can also attend the Riu Buenavista’s weekly themed ‘Riu party’ with transport included.
Just so you know, there’s quite a lot of steps from the hotel to the beachfront infinity pool.

Two of the pools have a row of sunken sunloungers for you to relax on, while a third pool is a stylish infinity number, which you’ll find right by the beach. Two out of the three pools come with bars, too. When you fancy a change from the pool, it’s just a short walk to the sandy beach. It’s got a prom, where you’ll find cafés, restaurants and shops.

Dotted with palm trees for some shade, the pools sit next to each other. They are surrounded by sunbeds and parasols with pool towels. Plus one is heated in the winter.

Outside of the hotel, down by the seafront promenade, you’ll find the relaxation area. It’s exclusive to the Riu Arecas and comes with an infinity pool – heated in winter, loungers and a bar. Just so you know, there’s a big set of steps from the hotel to the pool area.

The buffet restaurant serves everything from fresh salmon to roast beef. There’s even a section devoted to cheese, featuring international varieties. Every week there’s a couple of themed buffets, too At the buffet restaurant, you’ll find cooking stations, where the chefs cook your meat and fish in front of you.

You’ll find self-serve eats in this restaurant, which dishes up for breakfast and dinner. There’s hot and cold starters as well as live cooking stations. Vegetarian options are available and dessert is a buffet spread, too. There’s themed evenings twice a week.
